KALAK, IRAQ – JUNE 24: An Iraqi child pauses in a temporary displacement camp for Iraqis caught-up in the fighting in and around the city of Mosul on June 24, 2014 in Kalak, Iraq.Tens of thousands of people have fled Iraq’s second largest city of Mosul after it was overrun by ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) militants. Many have been temporarily housed at various IDP (internally displaced persons) camps around the region including the area close to Erbil, as they hope to enter the safety of the nearby Kurdish region. I have never held a puppy
nor have I ever played jump rope.
But I have dived for cover many times
and prayed and held onto hope.
